Made an Assembly Line

Here's a sneak peek at the crafty wish ticket for this week. I set up my little assembly line early this morning thinking everything would be wrapped up tidy by the afternoon. HA! The humidity certainly threw a monkey wrench in those plans!. Have my fingers crossed all the little bits and pieces finally dry up enough for their final coat of gloss tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Made Crafty Wish Ticket #3 - A Pincushion Just For Me!

Remember that "something special just for me" that I promised to show you real soon? Here it is, crafty wish ticket #3, my new pincushion!

While I was at it, I found a cute little bowl to keep it in as well as a few other goodies to embellish for my portable sewing basket.

A place for everything and everything in it's place!

Made a Promise

During a conversation with a friend today the ugly truth was revealed....my portable sewing basket, yes the one I take every month to Handwork Gatherers, contains a generic store bought pincushion. I promised to add a crafty wish ticket to remedy the situation and make a pincushion just for me!

Made Crafty Wish #1 - Pick-a-Lily Fun!

Technically I did not make a Pick-a-Lily today but I will be making a listing of one in the shop. First, however, I'll share a bit about them and what makes them one of my all time favorite projects.

While I'll admit to my fair share of frustrations during the early days of creating them, I can now say I thoroughly enjoy the entire process.....from painting their little faces,

to adorning them with an assortment of bits and baubles,

and finally selecting a name by which to call them.

If you've been following along you'll know that Lily Maida here is my most recent Lily. She was outfitted with a kerchief and tussie mussie.

Others, like Lily Maud, prefer straw hats and baskets for their flower picking adventures.

Winter wanderers require a woolen cape to keep cozy.....

.....while more domestic Lilies stay close to home and task. They can most often be found keeping house,

practicing the needle arts,

and caring for their four legged friends.

Regardless of their personalities they all come wrapped in a shiny bow.....

.....and ready to be your pincushion friend!

Made My Pick

Tah-Dah!
Crafty wish number one has been selected.

What now you wonder.....
well once a week, most likely on Wednesdays, one of the wee crafty wishes will be written up right here. I promise to provide pretty pictures and pertinent prose as well as post a product (perhaps even a pair) over at Piccalilli Patchwork for potential patrons. Interested individuals are invited to inspect my inspirations and industry. Fabulous fun and folly for sure!

Made it Brighter

It's been raining here.....raining a lot....raining all week long in fact. And I'm finding this misty, damp, dim world does nothing for my motivation. Still chugging away at the bedroom and now the nook as well, I'm finding little satisfaction with the results due to the fact that everything just seem so blah. The return of the sun will I'm sure do wonders but I'm also feeling the itch to paint...and not lilies or buttons mind you but walls. I went so far as to pick up some paint swatches along the lines of lighter and brighter. Names like "Summer Sonnet," "Beachside," "Linen," and White Cliffs" are extremely tempting but realistically I need to clean house (aka declutter and simplify) first and redecorate later.

In the meantime I found a way to brighten up my afternoon at least. It started with some happy strips of scrap booking paper and a hole punch.

Add to that a bit of brainstorming with a sharpie and before long I had a rainbow of crafty wishes.

Luckily a book ring was handy so all thirty-five wishes were easily rounded up....

.....and dangled from the nook's new bulletin board!

Why thirty-five you may ask? That's how many Sundays are left before the end of the year and since the Lily Tutorial is complete I thought it might be fun to have something else to look forward to on a weekly basis. Stay tuned for the reveal of crafty wish number one!
