My hands are still not quite fit for sewing although each day there seems to be less of the nasty gritty bits stuck to my fingertips. I'm desperately hoping by tomorrow to be able to take a stitch without catching up every fiber and thread in the vicinity. I was, however, in a crafty mood and so decided to play around with "smashing" up a day timer for myself.
I was recently enlightened into the world of smash journals and oh does it make the act of scrap booking so much more fun! And so I wondered. . . . . what could the concept bring to my day timer?

This thing was definitely NOT FUN! In fact I'd come to dread opening it's pages every morning. For me it was no longer a reminder what needed to be done in the day ahead but instead a guilt ridden review of all that I hadn't done yesterday, or the day before that, or the day before that!

A new planner required a new direction. . . . . one inspired by a favorite quote of Tasha Tudor.

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.

-Henry David Thoreau

To start with I named my divided sections not to do, or notes, or info but rather keywords from the quote itself like endeavours, and dreams, and confidence.

Adding a bit of color along with the dated calendar pages made the to-do's that must remain a bit more interesting at least.

How about some space for hopeful wishes?

And of course some maps to make those dreams come true!

There's still oodles of smashing to be done but with a handy supply of scrap paper at hand I'll be able to write down all those "must have" goodies and head out to the store!

Can't wait to open these pages again tomorrow morning!

  3. Me again, natalie jo, popping in here to let you know I didn't forget to make something today, I just can't seem to get access to the blogger dashboard in order to post it. Good news is I don't think it's my lack of technical abilities this time...I really think it's not working! The day is almost over so I'll try again tomorrow!
