Going, Going, Done!

With graduation over and done with Child #1 ended the weekend with a huge accomplishment under his belt. A happy hearty congratulations to him as he heads out into the big wide world!!!

Although on a much smaller scale, I too have a few bits of accomplishment that emerged in spite of the hoopla. One stitch after another in stolen moments here and there created not only two new little pillows for Hitty but also a quiet oasis of familiar activity within this week of chaos.

Some crochet edging of one sort brought peaceful contentment....

...while another sort another made my heart smile.

Best of all, Hitty is now fully outfitted  to travel the world. Perhaps, should their adventures cross paths, she'll even run into Child #1 along the way. I imagine he'll inquire from her as to the well being of his little old mum. To which  Hitty might well respond "Why she's fine of course! Hands to work and happy as a clam at home where she prefers to be. Why not ring her up now and then? Or better yet, pop in for a cuppa!"

  3. Beautiful work, Natalie Jo! You are just so perfect with fine work like this. Your small motor skills are above average...something that would be impossible for me.

I bet it feels good to have graduation accomplished!

  5. congrats to the new graduate and congrats to you for finishing up some sweet projects! I LOVE that beautiful cape of Miss Hitty's. You know, "Hitty, her first hundred years" was the first book i ever read on my own, and it has such a special place in my heart! Your doll looks just as I'd envision her!

  7. Dear Natalie Jo,

What pretty embroidered and crocheted pillows you made! Hitty's cape is lovely and will keep her warm in the winter's cold.

We like your blog name, Piccalilli Days. My Mum made piccalilli when I was little. In "The Long, Long Trailer", starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Lucy acquired a whole case of piccalilli to take with her on her trip over the mountains.

  8. Greetings Diane,

What a delight to have you pop in for a visit. Thank you for the kind words pertaining to the wee pillows and Hitty cape. I do not believe I have ever seen "The Long, long Trailer" but it does sound to be quite up my alley...thank you for the suggestion!

Fond regards to you, Sarah, Tillie, and the Dolls. I'll be over to visit at Corgyncombe Courant in the days to come...
