Made Coffee

I broke the glass carafe for the coffee maker today. This was the second time in less than a year that I have done just that. "Enough," I thought and dug around a bit for the stove top percolator I got at the flea market last summer. I had thought it would be a great back up for all those power outages we seem to encounter in our neck of the woods but now I'm thinking, "Why not for everyday?" Especially since it was so much fun to use. First the coffee grounds are spooned into the little basket.

Next place the basket on the hollow stem piece and set both into the pot of water.

Don't forget the basket lid to keep all those grounds in place!

Watching the water bubble up into the glass piece up top proved to be great entertainment. At first it was clear but eventually darkened to a nice rich brown color.

 Mug ups all around.....

.....and a thumbs up from dear hubby to boot!

  1. I have a glass stovetop percolator that I've never used. I think you just inspired me to give it a try.
