I've got my fair share of "not quites" as well! I use them constantly and find them to function just as well if not better as they are not so concerned about their appearance. :)
Aren't they beautiful? These would have brightened Friday afternoons for the less sewing-orientated little girls in my childhood school. Lucky me! I always loved it, but felt so sorry for my tearful little friend who spent hour after hour trying to hem a doll sheet only to have Miss Mawson rip it out and yell at her for dropping pins on the floor, not managing neat enough herringbone stitch and - oh sinful - crying in class. Way to go to make little girls love sewing and dolls, Miss Mawson! You made Janet feel the same about needlecraft as your colleague, Mr Webster, made me feel about spelling!
Those are fabulous! I have made a few , but mine did not come out quite as pretty as yours:-)

It's that tragic and unfortunately all too common!
